A Story of Resilience

Emotional and cognitive resilience in aging is all about how older adults adapt to life’s changes and challenges while staying mentally sharp and emotionally strong. Emotional resilience helps seniors cope with stress, loss, and health issues by staying positive, connected, and engaged with others. Cognitive resilience refers to the brain’s ability to stay active and flexible, even in the face of age-related changes, through things like social interaction, learning new skills, and staying physically and mentally active.

For senior care organizations, supporting emotional and cognitive resilience means helping older adults feel empowered, connected, and mentally engaged. This can lead to better overall well-being, improved quality of life, and a greater ability to handle the ups and downs that can come with aging.

Unlocking Creative Potential

Meet Ellie

Resilia was created in 2021 by artist and social gerontologist, Ellie Rose, with a vision to unlock the creative potential of organizations and transform the way we approach aging and senior care.

With a vibrant energy and a deeply personal story, Ellie inspires audiences to reimagine aging and care through the transformative power of the arts. Blending science with creativity, she shares innovative ways the arts can enhance brain health, emotional well-being, and resilience—even in the face of adversity.

Ellie’s passion for creating meaningful programs and products has fueled her 17-year career in both the U.S. and Mexico.
